Last race day offered, just like yesterday, great winds and sunny skies. Two races where scheduled and they carried out without delays. Today’s winners are: R10 – Günni (GER), followed by Front Runner (SWE) and United 5 (GER); and R11 – United 5 (GER), followed by 5443 (USA) and Henk (GER).
The J/24 Audi European Open Championship 2014 are proud to present the top six teams:
- Team 5543 – Mike Ingham and crew (27 points)
- Henk – Frank Schönfeldt and crew (57 points)
- VITESSE – Manfred König and crew (60 points)
- UK Sailmakers – Peer Kock and crew (68 points)
- Front Runner – Per-Håkan Persson and crew (76 points)
- quick & dirty – Dirk Strelow and crew (95 points)
The prize for best all female-crew-team went to VEGA Ragazza – Stephanie Koepcke and crew (110 points)
The award for best youngest team went to LUV – Tom Stryi and crew (184 points)
Stewart and Mary-Anne Jardine’s Old boat trophy for inspiration to the J/24 class went to the Swedish all female crew For Fun (blue) – Liselotte Sjöberg and crew.
And last, but certainly not least, a special award was given to the youngest crew member of the Europeans – Nils… (12 years old) who showed great courage and fighting spirit together with his crew on Höllenhund Reloaded (Martin Maschnitza)
